What is Quenching? Quenching is a critical part of manufacturing process for a heat treated part. The oil used for the heat treatment is quenching oil. We are going to understand about the common issues with quenching oil including contamination and filtration methods. Contamination in Quenching Oil Quenching oil can be divided into several categories, depending on their functional characteristics. Two such characteristics are quenching rate and operating temperature. The major factors affecting the performance of quenching are: 1.
